There is currently no option available for you to upload images directly to the website. If you are sending media to the owners of the site (via eMail or other social media channels) for use in articles, please ensure that any personally identifying information is removed (ie, from the EXIF information), and include proper attribution, licensing, and other information.

How long we retain your data

If you sign up for our Newsletter, your email address is kept on that list in perpetuity until such time as you remove it.

For our analytics, the information is kept for only as longs needed to process it for statistical information. Once this is completed all personal information is discarded. see the Analytics statement below.

If you use the contact form to contact us, your email address, name, (optional phone number) and the contents of your emails will be kept in our account on our email service provider (FastMail). This information is archived on a continuous basis.

What rights you have over your data

You may remove yourself from our Newsletter at any time. We will not contact you outside of that process.

Direct emails will be retained as part of the obligation we have to be able to produce communications records related to the operation of the site.

Where we send your data

We primarily keep your information to a very limited set of locations:

  • Our eMail service provider (FastMail)
  • Our analytics provider (Fathom)

Analytics

We want to process as little personal information as possible when you use our website. That’s why we’ve chosen Fathom Analytics for our website analytics, which doesn’t use cookies and complies with the GDPR, ePrivacy (including PECR), COPPA and CCPA. Using this privacy-friendly website analytics software, your IP address is only briefly processed, and we (running this website) have no way of identifying you. The purpose of us using this software is to understand our website traffic in the most privacy-friendly way possible so that we can continually improve our website and business. The lawful basis as per the GDPR is “f); where our legitimate interests are to improve our website and business continually.” As per the explanation, no personal data is stored over time.
